ABOUT JOE TAUBER
Joe Tauber grew up in a family which promoted social awareness and kindness toward others. It was not unusual in his mother's household to share the dinner table and room with a child in need. Washington, D.C. did not only provide Joe with the opportunities that a Capitol City offers, it revealed the poor, lonely and hungry, but he also learned hope and the satisfaction of being helpful to others. To this day Joe is close to some of his "cousins" he used to share his home and toys with. A strong point in Joe's mother's philosophy was education for all the children in her care.
It was his mothers caring influence that lead the way and Joe excelled as an athlete and academically. He developed a passion for wrestling and has been involved in the sport for over 30 years. He is considered a top official working for the NCAA, BIG 10, and other nationally recognized organization. He still referees High School and it doesn't matter to him how developed a program is, he enjoys and treats it the same.
His passion to be of service carried into the way he practiced law. He was admitted in Maryland, District of Columbia and West Virginia. He specialized in Insurance Defense for clients like Safeway and Key Bank. Joe practiced law for 30 years and has extensive experience as a negotiator. As busy as the law office was he took the time to go to bat for 1,500 abused and neglected children in need of legal representation.
Joe served in multiple capacities, including Executive Vice President and General Counsel for GCN, a fiber-optic cable company in Silverspring, MD. He emerged as a leader representing the United States Army at the Humanitarian Assistance Working Group (HAWG) at Central Command in Tampa, FL. He served as "Chief" and successfully negotiated logistics and materials with 44 senior representatives of armed forces from around the globe. He oversaw the delivery of 200 tons of humanitarian assistance shipments to the Afghan people. In 2003 he received the Outstanding Leadership, Guidance and Support Award from HAWG.
He always does his best and tries to lead others to do the same. Since coming to North Carolina in 2013, Joe won his election to the Dare County School Board, a $64 Million school system and received an appointment to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board ($18 Million Dare County and over $1 Billion statewide) and Jeanette's Pier Advisory Council. He is always working on a project and has been consulting businesses in diverse business aspects.
He is involved in community issues and festivities. He has experience, expertise and passion.
Joe is my husband and I am very proud of his professional and personal accomplishments.
